9-year-old Israeli girl dies one week after cardiac arrest during rocket siren
Tamar Chaya Torpiashvili died on Sunday at age 9, one week after she suffered cardiac arrest during a rocket alarm siren while rushing into her family’s shelter, Israeli media reported.
“Sadly, despite the doctors’ best efforts, 9-year-old Tamar died on Saturday night,” Ashdod’s Assuta Medical Center said in a statement.
“She was evacuated to the hospital a week ago on Friday after suffering cardiac arrest during a siren. The hospital shares in the family’s grief.”
Doctors are still trying to determine the exact cause of the heart failure in such a young child, which is extremely rare.
