Israel to award foreign citizens for exceptional contributions to state & people
Israel plans to award a special honor decoration to foreign citizens who have made an exceptional contribution to the State of Israel, the Jewish people, its foreign relations, or the advancement of its values and interests, the Foreign Ministry announced.
The initiative is a first of its kind recognition for foreign citizens and was created by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who appointed a public committee to formulate the standards, criteria, and procedure.
"It will be authorized to consult experts and professional bodies and to examine accepted models from around the world. Within 30 days, the committee will submit its recommendations to the Foreign Minister, in preparation for the presentation of the honors during 2026," the ministry said.
