Israel to acquire two new fighter squadrons in multi-billion deal
Israel has approved the purchase of two new fighter jet squadrons in deals worth tens of billions of shekels, the IDF announced. The acquisitions include a fourth squadron of F-35 “Adir” aircraft from Lockheed Martin and a second squadron of F-15IA jets from Boeing.
The plan, approved by the ministerial procurement committee, also covers integration, logistics, and long-term support. The move marks the first step in a broader military buildup program for the coming decade, with a total budget of 350 billion shekels, aimed at maintaining Israel’s strategic air superiority in the region.
