Israel thanks island nation Nauru for decision to open Jerusalem embassy
Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar thanked the island nation of Nauru for the decision to open an embassy of their state in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
In a statement, Sa'ar noted this came on the heels of his meeting with Lionel Aingimea, Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nauru.
"Nauru's embassy is expected to be the tenth embassy in Jerusalem, and the fifth since I took office... Nauru is a true friend of Israel, and the opening of the embassy will undoubtedly contribute to deepening the relations between the countries," Sa'ar said.
"The Foreign Ministry, under my leadership, will provide all the necessary assistance to open the embassy as soon as possible. We look forward to hosting you soon in Jerusalem, our eternal capital!"
