Israel signs hundreds-of-millions deal for desert camel racing site, expecting tens of thousands of visitors

Arad Mayor Yair Maayan announced Wednesday that an agreement has been signed between the Negev Camel Owners Association and the UAE Camel Racing Federation, paving the way for cooperation on camel racing in Israel.

Maayan said the deal was signed during a visit to the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of UAE cultural officials and embassy representatives. According to him, the Emirati government is highly interested in establishing a permanent camel racing track near Arad, a move he says could boost tourism and the local economy while highlighting traditional Bedouin culture.
