Israel says pilot reopening of Rafah crossing was ‘very successful’
The pilot program for opening the Rafah Border Crossing was held on Sunday, ahead of its opening for the entry and exit of Gazans from the Strip via the border with Egypt. According to Israel, the pilot was defined as “very successful.”
Systems testing was carried out at the crossing, infrastructure integrity was checked, simulations were conducted for the passage of buses and ambulances, and briefings were given to all parties involved – the Palestinians operating the crossing and the European Union delegation.
