Israel says hundreds of Iranian regime forces were killed by protesters
Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen, a member of Israel’s security cabinet, said Thursday that Israel has intelligence indicating hundreds of security troops of the Iranian regime have been killed by protesters during the unrest in Iran.
Cohen warned Tehran against acting against Israel, saying Jerusalem has demonstrated precise intelligence and strike capabilities across Iran. He said Iran would pay a heavy price for any such move, citing Israel’s recent operation in which dozens of Iranian scientists and generals were eliminated and regime sites were hit.
Israeli defense officials assess that even if the United States strikes Iran, Tehran may avoid direct attacks on Israel, partly to prevent widening the conflict into a broader regional war.
