Israel requested transfer of Jewish graves from Lebanon as part of deal - Lebanese report
Israel has requested the transfer of the bodies of Jews buried in cemeteries across Lebanon, many of whom have family now living in the Jewish State, as part of the negotiations with the Lebanese government, according to a report by the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper Al-Akhbar.
This reportedly includes graves currently located in Beirut and Sidon. The request was said to come in the context of negotiations to free Lebanese prisoners detained during Israeli military operations, many of whom are affiliated with Hezbollah.
The remains could be exchanged for those prisoners who are not Hezbollah operatives, the report said.
