Israel Prize–winning director Ram Levi dies at 85
Ram Levi, acclaimed director and Israel Prize laureate for communications, has died at 85, his family announced Sunday morning.
Levi, a professor emeritus at Tel Aviv University’s Department of Film and Television, created numerous influential television dramas and documentaries. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, he served in the Paratroopers Brigade and later studied economics, political science and film. Between 1968 and 1999 he directed dozens of productions for Israeli television, with much of his work centered on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Jewish-Arab relations.
