Israel indicts IDF soldier over intentional killing of Arab civilian in traffic dispute
An indictment was filed Friday in Haifa District Court against an IDF soldier accused of killing 27-year-old Sharif Hadid near the Ein Tut interchange on Route 6 last month.
The soldier, from Afula and serving in an elite unit whose name is under a gag order, is charged with intentional murder and related offenses. Prosecutors say a road altercation escalated after both vehicles stopped, when the soldier exited with a cocked M16, struck Hadid with the rifle butt, smashed his car’s rear window, and later shot him multiple times after Hadid approached holding a knife or sharp object.
