Israel demands vetting of Lebanese troops deployed in pilot security zones - report
Israel is demanding that Lebanese soldiers deployed in proposed “pilot zones” undergo security screening to ensure they have no ties to Hezbollah, according to Lebanese sources cited by the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper Al-Akhbar.
The sources also said Israel insists on retaining the right to evaluate the results of the initial phase and to halt any subsequent stages if it concludes the process does not meet its security requirements.
