Israel attacks airports in Damascus and Aleppo, Syrian media reports
Israeli airstrikes targeted the Damascus International Airport and the Aleppo Airport in Syria on Thursday afternoon, according to reports from Syrian news outlets.
The runways of both airports were reportedly heavily damaged from the strikes and taken out of service.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was reportedly in-flight at the time, on his way to Syria to visit the region, but the pilot was instructed to turn around mid-air and land in Iraq, diplomatic sources told Russian news outlet Sputnik.
