Israel and Syria wrap up latest round of talks in Paris amid reports of optimism
A source close to the Syrian government told KAN News that Syria's announcement regarding the resumption of talks with Israel in Paris, under American auspices, is in itself a positive indication of relations between the countries.
These comments come amid signs of optimism coming out of Damascus. A Syrian security official adds that the regime in Damascus is willing to provide Israel with guarantees for stability in southern Syria, and that multiple messages have been conveyed indicating that Syria does not want an escalation.
According to the official, “the instructions from above are to stop anyone who tries to drag the Syrians into conflict with Israel.”
