Island nation of Nauru opens Jerusalem embassy
The island nation of Nauru, located in the Pacific Ocean, opened its first embassy in Israel, in the capital city of Jerusalem.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar hailed the “determination” of Nauru’s Foreign Minister Lionel Aingimea, in opening the embassy in the nation’s capital.
“This is a true legacy. Today, you laid a brick in the walls of Jerusalem,” Sa’ar said at the opening ceremony.
The Nauru embassy is the ninth embassy in Israel’s capital city. Foreign Minister Sa’ar promised that a tenth nation will open its embassy there next month.
