Islamic Jihad and Hamas build presence in Syria
Islamic Jihad swiftly denied a Kan News report published this morning (Wednesday) claiming the group is quietly entrenching itself in refugee camps around Damascus in coordination with the Syrian regime. Kan’s evening broadcast further revealed that Hamas, too, sees Syria as a conducive arena for its activity, and that elements within the Assad-era establishment — though not necessarily the president himself — are allowing the organization to establish a foothold while overlooking its operations.
