Iranian attack reportedly behind explosion on gas tankers in Egypt
Iran was behind the attack on gas tankers at Egypt's Damietta port, The New York Times reported.
Citing unnamed Iranian officials, the newspaper said the strike was intended to demonstrate that Iran is capable of profoundly disrupt international shipping routes.
The report did not clarify whether the operation was carried out directly by Iran or through one of its proxy groups.
