Iran war driving push to diversify trade routes, EU says in Yerevan

The war in Iran is underscoring the need to diversify trade routes, the EU’s foreign policy chief said on Monday at a meeting in Yerevan, Armenia.

Emphasizing the importance of the Middle Corridor, Kaja Kallas said developments in the Middle East are driving efforts to “diversify the trade routes and diminish the risks of one trade route being closed.”

Kallas said the European Political Community meeting would focus on connectivity and resilience to threats amid the conflict in Iran.
