Iran unveils new IRGC Navy commander after predecessor was killed
Iran has officially unveiled Maj. Gen. Ali Ozmaei as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, months after his predecessor was killed during Operation Roaring Lion.
Although Ozmaei reportedly assumed the role several months ago and his appointment had been mentioned by various sources, Iranian state television formally announced his appointment on Saturday.
He succeeds Ali Reza Tangsiri, who was killed in an Israeli strike on the port city of Bandar Abbas on March 26 as part of Operation Roaring Lion.
