Iran hangs 2 men accused as 'Mossad spies' amid execution spree
The Iranian regime has continued to execute Iranians accused of being Israeli spies in recent months.
On Monday, the state-affiliated Mehr news agency said two men, Omid Behzad and Pouria Safvat, were hanged after being convicted "on charges of espionage and intelligence cooperation with the Israeli regime," including transmissions of target intelligence during the recent war.
The executions come amid a spree of death sentences for alleged spies and those accused of taking part in anti-regime demonstrations earlier this year, including many teenagers.
Rights groups Defenders of Children's Rights in Iran and the Center for Justice for Children have warned that at least 184 teenagers detained during the January protests remained in prison, with two having been executed and fourteen others having received death sentences.
Twelve more could receive similar sentences in the coming weeks, the groups warned.
