Iran doesn't intend to attack Israel at this stage, officials estimate - report
Despite recent Iranian drone and missile strikes on several countries, Israeli officials currently assess that the regime does not intend to attack Israel at this stage, Channel 12 News reported.
According to assessments presented in recent days, including at the prime minister's meeting this evening, Iran is aware that striking Israeli sites or civilians would immediately spike the intensity of the conflict and risk an escalation cycle, which it doesn't want, the report noted.
An Israeli official told the outlet: "We all hope this assessment proves wrong and that Iran makes that mistake. The Americans know that we want to complete our missions in Iran—and they know exactly what that means. At the moment, it is not relevant; the current incident is limited in scope, and we are not part of it. We will become part of it only if the Americans bring us into it—or if the Iranians do."
