Iran declares sudden halt to military operations against Israel
Iran has announced it is halting military operations against Israel, saying it has fulfilled its commitment in support of Lebanon.
The spokesperson for Iran’s military command announced on Monday a “cessation of armed forces operations,” while warning of “much more intense and crushing measures than before” if what it described as “aggression” continues, including in southern Lebanon.
The announcement comes hours after U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that Israel and Iran were “looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE,” adding that final negotiations were proceeding “subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way.”
It remains unclear whether the development will impact Israeli operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
