Iran claims 13 countries pulled out of Khamenei funeral under US pressure
Iranian officials claim that representatives from 13 countries canceled their attendance at the funeral of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei due to pressure from the United States.
Khamenei's coffin was placed on display in Tehran on Friday ahead of the funeral procession scheduled to begin Saturday. The ceremony was attended by senior figures of the Islamic Republic, including IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi in his first public appearance since Operation Rising Lion.
Iranian media noted that Mojtaba Khamenei, who has been named the country's new supreme leader, was not seen at the ceremony.
