IDF 'strongly condemns' arson by Jewish extremists that wounded Palestinians, destroyed buildings
The Israel Defense Forces "strongly condemned" an attack by Jewish extremists that wounded several Palestinians, "including a girl and a woman" overnight, urging the police to prosecute the suspects.
The IDF said that troops were dispatched to the Khirbet Tuba area, in the South Hebron hills area, "following a report that homes had been set on fire and Palestinians had been assaulted in the area by Israeli civilians. As a result, several Palestinians were injured, including a girl and a woman. In addition, several buildings were burned."
The suspects fled ahead of the arrival of the IDF troops, the military said, adding that police officers arrived overnight to "under IDF protection to collect testimony, findings, and evidence for the investigation."
"The IDF strongly condemns incidents of this kind, including harm to residents, among them women and children. The IDF expects the law enforcement authorities to bring the suspects to justice."
