IDF strikes terrorist who crossed Gaza ceasefire line, threatened troops
IDF troops operating in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday killed a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line and approached the troops "in a manner that posed an immediate threat to them," the Israeli military said, in a third announcement of a strike in the enclave after a week without airstrikes.
According to media reports, the Israeli government had agreed to limit strikes in order to give negotiations over a disarmament agreement, led by the U.S.-backed Board of Peace, a chance.
"Following the identification, the troops responded with fire in order to remove the threat. A hit was identified. IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat," the IDF added.
