IDF strikes Hamas commander who prepared terror attack against troops in Gaza

The Israeli military killed a Hamas terrorist in the Gaza Strip in its second strike within 24 hours after a week without airstrikes in the enclave.

According to media reports, the Israeli government had agreed to limit strikes in order to give negotiations over a disarmament agreement, led by the U.S.-backed Board of Peace, a chance.

The Israel Defense Forces stated it "struck a Hamas commander in the northern Gaza Strip. The terrorist planned to execute terror attacks against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip. The terrorist was struck in an aerial strike in order to remove the threat to IDF troops."
