IDF soldier killed in Gaza by friendly fire

IDF Staff Sergeant Ofri Yafe was killed in the southern Gaza Strip, the IDF spokesperson announced today. Yafe, 21, from Moshav HaYogev in northern Israel, served in the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit and was killed by IDF fire in an incident near Khan Younis.

The IDF noted that Yafe was killed “in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.”

Yafe is the 924th fallen soldier in the war.
