IDF soldier dies from wounds sustained in Gaza in October
Israeli reserve soldier Asael Babad (38), a father to five children, succumbed to wounds he sustained while serving in the Gaza Strip in October, the IDF announced.
The military said Sgt.-Maj (Res.) Asael Babad, "from Geva Binyamin, a combat soldier in the 941st Battalion of the Menashe Regional Brigade, passed away after being severely injured during combat in the southern Gaza Strip on October 19th, 2025."
According to Israeli media, Babad had experienced a significant improvement in his condition and was already moved to rehabilitation before a sudden deterioration of his wounds this week led to his death on Thursday.
