IDF: Senior Hezbollah commander killed in southern Lebanon in response to drone attack
The IDF said it killed Abu Hassan Alaa, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, in an overnight strike in the Deir al-Zahrani area of southern Lebanon.
The military said the strike was carried out in response to Hezbollah’s explosive drone attack on IDF forces in the Ali Taher ridge area, which seriously wounded three Israeli soldiers.
According to the IDF, Alaa was involved in planning and advancing numerous attacks against Israeli forces operating in the security zone, including explosive drone attacks, and had commanded several Hezbollah combat sectors in recent years.
