IDF report: Surge in complaints from career soldiers, 1/2 found justified
The Soldiers’ Complaints Commissioner presented its 2025 report to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee this morning.
Of the 6,621 complaints from career soldiers submitted to the commissioner, 52% of those reviewed were found to be justified.
Prominent issues raised in the complaints include violations of individual rights, long waiting times for security clearance, and poor infrastructure and living conditions.
Thirty-five percent of all complaints deal with aspects of command and leadership, ranging from soldiers’ claims of physical and verbal abuse, inappropriate conduct, and excessive strictness, to commanders’ failures to implement medical recommendations or respond adequately to mental health needs
