IDF prevents settler activists from crossing into Syria for 2nd day

For the second day in a row, the IDF prevented activists of the "Pioneers of the Bashan" group, which advocates for establishing settlements in the Israeli-held security zone in southern Syria, from illegally crossing the closed military zone and the adjacent border.

"A short while ago, several Israeli civilians arrived in the area of Mount Hermon in an attempt to cross the border into Syrian territory. IDF troops operating at the scene prevented the civilians from advancing and detained them," the Israeli military stated.

"The detained civilians were transferred to the Israel Police for further handling. The IDF strongly condemns this incident, which follows several similar incidents in recent days, and emphasizes that such actions constitute a criminal offense that endangers civilians and undermines the operational activities of IDF soldiers," it added.
