IDF names soldier killed in terror attack as 55-year-old reservist Haim Kalomiti

The soldier killed in the terror attack in the area of Kokhav Yair earlier Sunday is Master Sergeant (Res.) Haim Kalomiti, aged 55, from Tzur Natan, the Israel Defense Force announced.

Kalomiti was shot by a terrorist near his hometown, Tzur Natan, while serving in the Ephraim Brigade, the regional defense unit tasked with securing the area. Five other people were wounded in the attack, including two who are in serious condition.

The IDF added that "in the incident in which Master Sergeant (Res.) Haim Kalomiti fell, an additional IDF reserve soldier was severely injured. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, and his family has been notified."
