IDF kills another Hamas commander who took part in Oct 7 massacre
Israeli troops last Thursday killed a Hamas squad commander who infiltrated Israeli territory and took part in the abduction of Armored Corps soldiers during the October 7 massacre, the IDF announced.
The terrorist, Jihad Samih Mahmoud Ismail, led a squad of the elite Nukhba unit that killed tank driver, Sergeant Shaked Dahan and abducted his comrades, Captain Omer Neutra, Staff Sergeant Oz Daniel, and Sergeant Nimrod Cohen.
Throughout the rest of the war, Ismail was involved in ambushes against IDF troops and took part in planning and conducting attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, the IDF said.
"The terrorist was eliminated in order to remove the threat he posed," the military noted, adding that "prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance."
