IDF finds remains of last missing soldier from 1982 battle in Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces have informed the family of the fallen soldier Yehuda Katz that his remains were located, over 40 years after he fell in the battle of Sultan Yacoub in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley.
Katz was the last missing soldier from the Battle of Sultan Yacoub who, until today, was still officially listed as missing. The IDF didn't reveal additional information about where and how the remains were found.
The announcement follows the return of the body of Zvi Feldman in 2025 in a covert Mossad operation, and the return of the body of Zachary Baumel from Syria in 2019, with Russian assistance.
