IDF: Extremist settlers riot, attack Palestinian civilians after evacuation of illegal outpost
Dozens of Israelis burned tires and threw stones at Palestinian vehicles traveling on the Shilo Junction on Route 60, the IDF and Israel Police said.
"This occurred after the evacuation of an illegal outpost in the area," the military stated, adding it had sent soldiers to the area.
"Subsequently, another report was received stating that several Israeli civilians had set a Palestinian vehicle on fire and assaulted the passengers of the vehicle."
"There is a known claim that a Palestinian woman who was injured from smoke inhalation was evacuated by an Israeli passerby, and later received initial treatment from the Red Crescent at the entrance to the community of Eli. As a result of the stone-throwing, several Palestinians were injured and one vehicle sustained damage," the military added.
Security forces are currently searching the area for the suspects.
