IDF destroys improvised explosives laboratory in Tulkarm
Acting on intelligence, IDF soldiers located and destroyed an improvised explosive laboratory in the refugee camp of Tulkarm on Friday, the military said.
During the operation, the forces discovered a variety of weapons and materials used to prepare improvised explosive devices in the laboratory, including: approximately 200 pipe bombs, empty fire extinguishers designed to house explosive charges attached to vehicles, large gas cylinders, potentially for use as as under-vehicle explosive devices, as well as more than 50 kg (110 lbs) of improvised explosive devices.
The IEDs were intended to target Israeli forces operating in Judea and Samaria, and to carry out terror attacks against Israeli citizens. The military said the laboratory has been operating even before the IDF began its recent activity in northern Samaria.
