IDF Chief Zamir hails Lebanon agreement, stresses 'IDF maintains operational control'

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir praised the deal signed between Israel and Lebanon on Friday as being "historic and significant," stressing that the IDF's "operational strength and military achievements... created the conditions that made it possible."

Confirming statements by the prime minister, Zamir emphasized that the military "maintains operational control of the area and remains on high alert to deliver swift and decisive strikes should the ceasefire be violated."

"We are prepared to rapidly resume offensive operations in both Lebanon and Iran if required," Zamir added. "Hezbollah has been severely weakened, and its operatives are confined underground."
