IDF chief & senior officers secretly visit Washington over the weekend to discuss Iran tensions
IDF Chief Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir discussed ongoing tensions with Iran with senior U.S. military officials during a secret visit to Washington, D.C., over the weekend, Israeli media reported after the military censorship approved the publication of the visit.
Zamir was accompanied by the IDF head of the Planning Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Hedi Zilberman, who recently completed his role as the IDF attaché in Washington, as well as the Head of the Operations Division in the IDF Military Intelligence Branch, the head of the Foreign Relations Division, and other officers.
Last week, IDF Military Intelligence Chief Maj.-Gen. Shlomi Binder was in Washington, reportedly bringing with him specific intelligence on Iran that the U.S. military had requested.
