IDF announces first Gaza strike in 10 days, kills Hamas sniper who threatened troops
The Israel Defense Forces announced it struck a Hamas terrorist in the Gaza Strip, in the first such announcement in ten days, according to Army Radio.
"A short while ago, IDF troops identified a sniper from the Hamas terrorist organization who posed an immediate threat near the Yellow Line area, where IDF troops are operating in the northern Gaza Strip. Shortly after the identification, IDF troops fired toward the terrorist in order to remove the threat. A hit was identified," the military said.
According to Israeli media reports, the Israeli government had agreed to reduce airstrikes in Gaza in order to give the Board of Peace's disarmament plan a chance, despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's public rejection of the framework on Sunday.
