Heavy gunfire from Palestinian village near settlement prompts IDF deployment
Security forces operated overnight Thursday in the Palestinian village of Qaddum, near the settlement of Kedumim in Samaria, after residents reported heavy gunfire in the area.
Kedumim Local Council head Uzal Vatik said that after the gunfire was heard, the council’s security department mobilized local security forces and alerted the IDF.
“I want to say this as clearly as possible: We do not care what the reason for the shooting was, whether it was an ‘internal dispute’ or something else. We cannot accept a situation in which there are so many weapons in the village of Qaddum, so close to Kedumim. We must not accept this situation,” Vatik said.
