Heavy flooding hits Negev desert as winter rains return to Israel
A short winter system hit Israel Thursday morning, bringing bursts of localized heavy rain. In the Yatir stream area, a pickup truck was swept away, and the trapped driver was rescued in good condition before being transferred to MDA teams for further care. Authorities warn of possible flooding in parts of the north and flash floods in the Judean Desert and Dead Sea region.
