Health Ministry: Flu season begins early in Israel with rapid rise in infections
Israel’s National Center for Disease Control reports a sharp rise in influenza, with activity now above the epidemic threshold. Last week, 206 new hospitalizations were recorded across 14 general hospitals — nearly half of them children. The dominant strain is A/H3N2. The Health Ministry says the flu season began unusually early in Israel and abroad, and infection rates are climbing rapidly. Global data suggest this is likely to be a severe season.
