Hazardous materials concern as fire breaks out at Strauss plant in Sderot
A fire broke out Monday morning at the Strauss and Tapugan manufacturing facilities in the industrial zone of Sderot, with firefighters working to contain the blaze.
Authorities evacuated some nearby residents over concerns of a possible hazardous materials leak. The Sderot municipality said there are currently no special instructions for the general public, but residents of the Music Neighborhood have been asked to remain indoors and keep their windows closed as a precaution.
