Hamas source: Group reaffirmed commitment to Gaza ‘road map’ in Egypt talks with US
Hamas reaffirmed its commitment to the U.S.-backed Gaza “road map” during talks in Egypt and provided clarifications that helped ease concerns within the Trump administration, a Hamas source told Saudi-owned Asharq.
A second source said Hamas also accepted Jared Kushner’s demand that Gaza be demilitarized to the point that it can no longer pose a threat to Israel. Kushner reportedly pressed Hamas for concrete steps toward disarmament and the transfer of governing authority to a Palestinian technocratic administration.
