IDF intercepts long-range rocket fired from Gaza Strip toward Galilee
The IDF successfully intercepted a long-range rocket fired from the Gaza Strip to northern Israel on Friday afternoon, the IDF confirmed.
Rocket alarm sirens sounded in the area of Safed and in several towns in the eastern periphery of Haifa on Friday afternoon.
A David's Sling missile was used to shoot down the rocket, Israeli media reported.
Hamas claimed to have fired an "Ayyash 250" rocket, with a range of 250 km.
