German chancellor Merz: Iranian mullah regime is 'effectively finished'
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he estimates the Iranian regime is on its last legs, while speaking to reporters during a visit in India.
“When a regime can only hold on to power through violence, then it is effectively finished,” said Merz.
“I believe that we are now witnessing the last days and weeks of this regime. It is without legitimacy through elections anyway, and the population is now rising against this regime. I hope there is a way to settle this conflict peacefully, the mullah regime has to understand this now."
