Former Israeli PM calls ‘Qatargate’ Israel’s gravest betrayal
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday issued a sharp statement calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign amid an investigation into the alleged involvement of his close advisers in the “Qatargate” affair.
“Whether he knew or did not know — both possibilities require immediate resignation,” Bennett said, accusing Netanyahu’s circle of secretly assisting Qatar. “Covert aid to Qatar is a betrayal of our soldiers,” he added.
