Former hostage Yosef Chaim Ohana returns home seven weeks after his release

Nearly seven weeks after his release from Hamas captivity, survivor Yosef Chaim Ohana was discharged this morning (Sunday) from rehabilitation at Kfar Maccabiah in Ramat Gan and returned to his home in Kiryat Malachi.

“I love you all — I just know I’m going home,” Ohana told Kan News as he left the facility. “I love everyone. My heart is at 200.”

Ohana, 25, worked as a bartender at the Nova festival and helped evacuate the wounded before he was abducted. After returning to Israel, he described enduring severe torture, deliberate starvation, and physical and psychological abuse in captivity.

Six days after being brought back to Israel, on October 19, he was moved from Sheba Medical Center to rehabilitation.
