US won’t pressure Israel to tone down Lebanon strikes - report
Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Thursday that the U.S. told Lebanon it did not intend to pressure Israel in light of recent attacks.
Its source added that Beirut would need to take clear steps toward disarming Hezbollah—not only in southern Lebanon but across the country—before Israel would be sufficiently reassured to allow the expansion and acceleration of pilot withdrawal zones.
