FM Sa’ar says Colombia-Israel ties entering 'golden era' during visit for presidential inauguration
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with Colombia’s president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella during a visit to Colombia ahead of his inauguration on Friday.
“The golden era in relations between Colombia and Israel begins today,” Sa’ar wrote on X, describing de la Espriella as “a determined and inspiring leader.”
Sa’ar said the incoming president’s election was “great news” not only for Colombia but also for bilateral ties, calling him “a great friend of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.”
He added that their meeting in Barranquilla focused on strengthening political relations between the two countries, including cooperation on security and economic issues.
