First US plane carrying advanced weapons arrives in Israel
The first U.S. cargo plane carrying military equipment has landed in Israel, the Israeli military confirmed on Wednesday.
The plane landed at the Nevatim Air Base on Tuesday evening and brought the first shipment of advanced weaponry to help Israel in the war against Hamas.
The shipment was procured and brought to Israel in a joint operation by the Ministry of Defense's Directorate of Production and Procurement, the U.S. Procurement Mission and the International Transportation Unit within the IMoD.
"We’re surging additional military assistance, including ammunition and interceptors to replenish Iron Dome," U.S. President Joe Biden said in a speech on Tuesday.
"We’re going to make sure that Israel does not run out of these critical assets to defend its cities and its citizens."
